WILL THIS EVER END????

Happy Fall Y'all!

This afternoon, we went to Washington Farms in Watkinsville to pick out our pumpkins for the porch. It was our first time not going to Burt's Farm in Dawsonville, so we weren't sure what to expect.
While at the farm, we got to see and do lots of fun things. We got to pet goats, rabbits, a donkey, and two pigs. We also got to race rubber duckies by pumping water with old timey water pumps. They had bikes that you could race around the track and the boys had a fierce competition. Zachary won. We also got our taste of local traditions such as pumpkin launching and corn shooting.

There was a hayride that we rode, but Allison and Zachary also had the pleasure of riding in the Cow Train. The picture is deceiving. The cow is much smaller than we make it look. It was most uncomfortable as we bounced around the pasture behind the John Deere that pulled the train of cows along. Zachary said it was "so awesome!"

Perhaps the most interesting thing we go to see was pig racing. Interesting doesn't even begin to describe this...

We did end up finding five pumpkins to take home. It was dark by the time we got home, so no pictures of the final decorations. Perhaps in a couple days, we can post those. It was a great afternoon. Lots of memories were made. We'll be back in the spring to pick some strawberries.

Grandpa's '55

This morning, we stopped by a car show at Buford High School that Allison's Dad entered with his '55 Chevrolet. Zachary loved getting to see all of the old cars on display. It is not often that we get to see the car out from under the cover in the garage, so this was a real treat.

A candid shot of Marty and Grandpa.
We were very excited to hear that Grandpa won a trophy for his car. Congratulations!

Go Wolves!

On Friday night, we took Zachary to his first football game. We went with the Crozier Crew to see the Buford Wolves play the North Hall Trojans. All four kids had a blast and the parents quickly realized how old we are all getting. When the game was over (after Buford toppled the Trojans 45-14) Zachary got to go out on the field and run wild with every other child within the 30518 zip code. That was the highlight of the evening. He can't wait to go back to next week's game. Amazing - the kid hasn't even started Kindergarten yet, but we get the feeling we have at least 13 more years of Buford football games to attend. Just like the rest of town. Guess there is still some Small Town America left in Suburban Atlanta. What a fun evening!
